We have been VERY lucky! Both Sarah and Rachel were doing so well (as was Mommy), that we got to bring them home on Wednesday -- less than 48 hours after they were born. Amos was a little confused at first, but has now become a very caring and concerned big brother -- he lets us know whenever either of the girls starts crying (just in case we're not paying attention). It appears he will be fantastic with the girls.
We are very thankful that our parents have been here to help once we've brought the girls home. Poor Grandma Marcia drove the 6+ hours from Akron as soon as we learned the girls would be coming on 12/11. She got the the hospital just as Laura was taken into the delivery room, so she literally missed their actual birth by minutes. Nonetheless, she got to meet these little angels within their first hour of life. She took care of Amos and got the house all nice and clean for the girls to come home.
Grandpa Leland and Grandma Madonna came to town Wednesday afternoon, and have spent hours upon hours helping us with the girls and in maintaining the house. If they weren't here to help, I think we'd still be trying to get the girls ready for their first trip to the pediatrician. They've also allowed both Laura and Eric to actually get some sleep, which had been quite lacking since Monday.
Our little family is all nestled into our home, and we are loving the process of getting to know these two amazing little girls. Here are a few snapshots from the past few days.
