Crying...

I couldn't take it anymore! I had to get out of the house and I was hoping Aunt Michelle could tell me what was wrong with Rachel and how I can make things better for her. Once again, our trip to Mt. Zion has paid off. Upon arriving I asked Michelle to look at Rachel's back since it was very dry. Needless to say it wasn't just dry, it was bright red, scabby and looked very painful! Michelle and Wayne's neighbor is a nurse so we asked her to take a look at Rachel's back too. She said that it looks like what her son had. Eczema. She gave us creams and medicine to help soothe her, but it is still very painful for her. I have scheduled an appt today to go see the Dr. and hopefully she can give her something and advice to me on how to help Rachel be more comfortable.

WEB MD:
Eczema is term for a group of medical conditions that cause the skin to become inflamed or irritated. The most common type of eczema is known as atopic dermatitis, or atopic eczema. Atopic refers to a group of diseases with an often inherited tendency to develop other allergic conditions, such as asthma and hay fever.
Eczema affects about 10% to 20% of infants and about 3% of adults and children in the U.S. Most infants who develop the condition outgrow it by their second birthday, while some people continue to experience symptoms on and off throughout life. With proper treatment, the disease can be controlled in the majority of sufferers.

Rachel does have good moments where she wants to play. They are mostly in the morning when it's cooler and she's been off her back all night. The afternoon/evenings is when it flares up the most. I've been leaving her in onsies and 100% cotton jammies to try and keep her cool. Cross your fingers that the Dr can do something for her or the next 2 yrs of her life will be painful for everyone!!!

I think Sarah can sense that something is wrong with her sister. She's been very good and patient. Though she does have her moments. However, they are very tolerable compared to her sister's.
